Random quote: "1500 years ago, everybody "knew" that the earth was the center of the universe. 500 years ago, everybody "knew" that the earth was flat. And 15 minutes ago, you "knew" that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll "know" tomorrow. " -K (Tommy Lee Jones)-Men In Black

outdoorsFIRST Introduces Insurance Pro, Bob Luellen:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I first fished with Mark Martin over 20 years ago and we have been good friends ever since.

We share the same problem you have, we love to fish!

I went to the Soo Michigan PWT to fish with Mark and participate in the tournament and I had a great time. I really enjoyed the entire experience.

I spoke with a number of pro and co-anglers and found there are some issues with the way these guys are insured. In fact, Mark and I reviewed his insurance and I found out he did not have proper coverage. I then went to work explaining what should be done.

Now he has the coverage he needs and he is saving a lot of money per year.

I have been in the marine insurance business for over 15 years. I represent over 20 insurance companies and I am licensed in over 40 states.

I have written and designed programs that are specific to our insurance needs.

There are a lot of you out there that really do not know the kind of policy you have. Until when? You guessed it, when you have a claim.

My goal is to educate the members here so that there are NO issues in the event of a claim.

A lot of you have ACV, or actual cash value policies.

In the event of a total loss, you may not have enough insurance to even pay off the loan.

We primarily write agreed value or replacement cost policies.

I would be happy to help answer any question you may have.

I’m really interested in educating the members here.

Keep in mind that I insure every boat the exact way I insure my own.

Let me show you how I can save you money as well as provide the most comprehensive coverage available.

I would like the opportunity to earn your business.

Feel free to contact me at 800.339.1235 or bob@worldwidemarineins.com or drop me a PM using this message board.

You can also go to: http://www.worldwidemarineins.com to fill out my Quick Quote Form.

Please feel free to ask any questions, I’m here to help.

An explanation of ACV coverage by insurancepro:
What does Actual Cash Value Mean, and why is that not good coverage?
--------------------------------------------

With a Actual Cash Value policy you will recieve the actual cash value in the event of a total loss. You could be at the mercy of the insurance company as to what your boat is really worth. If you owed $30,000 on your boat and the insurance company thought the value to be $25,000 you could have a serious problem. I always try to write Agreed value or replacement cost coverage. That can depend on age of boat, driving record, Loss history ect. What I want to do for the members here is educate them as to what the really have. I just want people to understand there coverage's so there are no surprises in the event of a claim. Feel free to give me a call if you have any other questions or you can e-mail me www.worldwidemarineins.com 800-339-1235 Thanks Bob Luellen

What about insurance for Guides?
-------------------------------------------
Here is a sample of coverages provided for a Guide. Keep in mind this is a sample. Yours could be different because of driving record, loss history, experience, territory etc. If you receive money from clients to take them fishing, it now becomes a commercial exposure for an insurance company. Most standard policies do not provide coverage for this unless your policy has an endorsement added. It is very important to understand this, because if a client was injured during a trip you may find out there is no coverage. You will be familiar with most of the other coverges. I will do this quote on a experienced guide, over 50 years old, claim free and with a good driving record:

2007 Ranger 621 VS for sample
Hull and equipment $ 40,000 Ded $400
Trailer $ 5,000 Ded $250
Watercraft Liability $ 500,000
Medical Payments $ 10,000
Uninsured Boaters $ 500,000
Marine electronics $ 10,000 Ded $250
Fishing Equipment $ 10,000 Ded $250
Towing and Emergency service $1500/ 3000
Non- Owned watercraft Liability $ 500,000
Tournament reimbursement $ 2500. Per season
Fishing Guide coverage Included
Navigation All waters of the U.S.A. and Canada
Agreed value with no depreciation on partial losses
Includes a diminishing Deductible
Annual premium with guide coverage $ 573.00

I hope this helps clear things up. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions. Thank you, Bob Luellen 800-339-1235 www.worldwidemarineins.com
