THE 2nd ANNUAL MIDWEST COLLEGE SHOOTOUT
Hosted by the UW Fishing Team
Sunday, September 13th 2009

College Bass Fisherman in the Great Lakes Region:
Last year was the first year we held this event on the Madison Chain, and we drew a field of five different schools from Wisconsin and Illinois. This coming Fall, Sunday September 13th we will be back at it again...

Here are some of the details:

Where: Madison Chain... The Madison Chain consists of four lakes:
North --> South: Mendota (UW Campus) Monona, Waubesa, and Kegonsa
The duet of Monona and Waubesa Consistently brings in 20lb six fish bags... if you want to see the proof for yourself, visit the big bucks bass web site and look up some of the weigh-ins. 18lbs won the Midwestr College Shooout last year.
The lakes feature both largemouth and Smallmouth, and nearly every other species in the Midwest Region From Channel Cats to some impressive Muskies (the PMTT Championship will be held here next year).

Tournament Format:
One-day Tourney -Sunday September 13th, standard 8-hour day
Pre-Fish: no off-limits period
Launch Site: John Noland Park on the West Side off lake Monona and just off campus
Awards: Hardware will be awarded for 1st through 3rd, apparel for all participants, and we are working with sponsors to get some lures/merchandise/handouts

We have ample facilities due to these metropolitan gems being split by the isthmus on which our state capitol is located. the second week of school is a great time to visit the UW Madison Campus if you would like to socialize and meet some of the student population, as the first three weeks are pretty much all "welcome week."

Lodging: We are working on getting a hotel blocked and using some University money to fund the event, however some of our members will be able to provide lodging as well, which worked out well for visiting Western Illinois lst year who did not know many people from the area, and it's free.

Why the Tourney was Started: Due to the lack of Northern tournaments this tournament was started last year to promote friendly competition in a tournament close to home for northern bass anglers, and bring the northern teams together so we can promote the sport here, and not have to travel to Arkansas to fish stocked ponds in a national championship.

More information will be posted on our website: http://www.uwfishingteam.com as we finish up finals.

Sincerely,
Lee Zinn
UW Fishing Team President
