Without the prospect of winning additional money for running a certain boat and motor what would your criteria be for a purchase? We know many guy's buy brand X with the hope of getting additional cash. If there was no additional contingency money would you have bought the same boat or motor that you did?

Looks?
Fishability?
Price?
Warranty?

Why did you buy the boat you bought?

Maybe I need to rephrase the question.

Did the option of contingency money influence which brand boat or motor you bought?

I am not a boat owner but I think you shouldn't decide on a boat based on how much money you will get back. Same goes for buying a car. I think you should buy the boat based on the type of fishing you plan on doing, the options you can get for your money, and if it fits your budget. If a deal pops up on a boat you're interested in then thats just an added bonus.

I am thinking of buying a skeeter just for that reason. They offer $3000 for first in the tournaments I fish. I have never really been a big fan of them though. Legend or ranger would be my favorite though.
